Narrative

They emerged like phantoms from the deep on that stormy night. These pirates claim to be the island's protectors, demanding seasonal tributes of goods and treasures as 'protection fees'. The islanders know that submitting means eternal servitude, but faced with the cannons aboard their ships, they have no choice but to yield temporarily. With their wind-tanned skin and eyes as dark as the deep sea, they embody maritime calamity itself. They call themselves the East Sea Wanderers, a name absent from any maritime records. The only certainty is that several coastal villages have been reduced to ashes for refusing to pay, and ports razed for resistance. The pirates' ruthlessness is legendary, and their captain is said to be the most merciless of all.
